I am a Certified EMDR Consultant who can work with you to become an EMDR International Association Certified Therapist. I'll help you through the process of getting certified in EMDR as well as provide the 20 hours of consultation required for you to be eligible to meet the EMDR certification criteria. Please note that only consultation hours received AFTER completion of an EMDRIA Approved Training program can be applied towards this requirement.
Becoming an EMDR International Association Certified Therapist
Clinicians are eligible to become EMDR International Association Certified Therapists if they have an advanced degree from an accredited college or university, are fully licensed in their mental health professional field for independent practice and have two years of experience (minimum) in that field. Specific EMDR requirements include completion of an EMDR International Association approved training program in EMDR therapy, a minimum of 50 clinical sessions in which EMDR was utilized, and 20 hours of consultation in EMDR by an Approved Consultant. To maintain the credential, EMDR International Association Certified Therapists must complete twelve hours of continuing education in EMDR every two years. - EMDR Certification. (2021).
